Unix Support*Helpdesk*OperationsResponsibilities:Follow delivery processes as per customer SLA and customer need.Define,own and document via toolsets problem,change and service requests.Follow predetermined delivery processes and schedules.Maintain relationships with customers.Create and maintain delivery support documentation.Provide operational links into other management and staff.Adherence and input to ISO90001.Adherence to Health and Safety Essential skills:Monitoring and 1st level technical diagnosis of system incidents–fix and*or escalate,where appropriate.Very good understanding of UNIX (Solaris,HPUX, Tru64, AIX).Good understanding of Windows NT,2000 and*or 2003.Good understanding of Backup solutions (NetBackup,ARCserve),mainly on UNIX systems,but also Windows.Excellent problem solver along with escalation management experience.Knowledge and use of trouble ticketing and tracking systems.Flexible working schedule–must be able to work 24x7 shift.Good A levels + a minimum of 2*3 yrs operational exp.Desirable skills:Exposure to VMS.Awareness of Service Level Agreements (SLA).The position is an operational role in a dynamic IT delivery unit,which consists of a team running a 24 hours,365 days a year operation.Ideally the candidate will have good UNIX and Windows skills–the percentage of work is 70% UNIX and 30% NT+VMS MSB Technology (a division of MSB International PLC) is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
